van halen is a great band but still i would pick many bands over them. in my opinion, i think led zeppelin, ac/dc, black sabbath, and pink floyd are more deserving than van halen. eddie van halen is a great guitar player, but people are over looking who came first. as far as we know, there wouldnt be a van halen without bands such as led zeppelin and black sabbath. i just dont understand. p.s. metallica is also better

This was an awesome tournament. Congrats WYSP on a job well done. However, I think there should be a bonus match now on the Sammy Vs. Dave era's of VH.. It might not mean anything, but it would be added entertainment.

I had fun just listening as the bands duked it out. It didn't really matter to me who won I was the guy voting against Metallica the whole time because I really think that other bands are better and deserve to show it. But if Metallica won Id say oo well, obviously they are a great talented band but just cause they lost gives someone else a chance instead of the norm. I am very glad Van Halen won the whole March Madness, they are a truley amazing band with a guitar god. You dont get much better than EVH after all.

This contest should randomly seed bands and not play any song more then 1 time.Had that been done this whole thing would still end with VH but it would have made for a much better listening experience.Maybe even turn people on to some old stuff they have never heard before. Maybe even limit how many times a person can vote, this contest was definitly altered by a few mad texters.1 person can vote over 200 times for each battle,imagine a group of frat boys wanting a new 50" TV. The right band won and they deserve it. I am a VH fan and have been a very long time.I didn't take them to win because I thought most morons would go for something lame and I was tryin to win this thing.This whole contect was retarded.Kiss and Twisted Sister going past round 1 proves that. IMO only 4 bands out of the 64 are deserving of winning, VH,Metallica, GnR,and Led Zep. GnR had 1 real great album in Appetite, maybe one of the best of all times IMO. But the other 3 bands have done so much more. Eddie VH changed the way the guitar was played.For those that don't know he used to play with his back to the crown so they couldn't see how he did the things he did.When he was told he needed to turn around and play to the crowd EVERY guitar player started taking from EVH. EVH is a talent we are all lucky to witness. Not just his playing but the songs he creates are just amazing.Take any of the 1st 8 albums VH made and just put a random song from any of them and that song will simply rock from beginning to end.Even the Hagar era was good. I love Metallica and they kick ass but no one comes close to Van Halen. As for this contest ,it sucked. To many bands that had a hit or 2 that we haqd to hear everytime they battled. I can't recall hearing ACDC "Back in Black" at all.

Iron Maiden should have beaten most if not all of these bands.

All I can say is if I wasn't in my car driving home at 5pm GNR would have won! That being said my hats off to Van Halen the are a great band as were ALL the bands. Everyone has their personal favorite, but than god for the music we love. Keep Rockin people!
